Superior Drummer 3.0.3
Trying to use the tracker.
I have some drumtrack separate files, I just want to replace / enhance the bass drum (for the moment).
Using Cubase Pro 9.5.
I create a tempo track from the bass drum audio.
Can’t export tempo track as midi, only a .smt file.
Can export a blank midi file, which appears to have tempo changes in.
Superior Drummer 3.0.3
Can’t import Cubase’s .smt format, thus having to use the dummy midi file.
Import the audio file. (have to use import, since drag from Cubase and drag from clover doesn’t drop the audio into SD3).
Tracker detects it is a bass drum.
Play what it finds, it is in time with the original.
Click the export button. Drag the midi into the project.
Get an error “Time Type Mismatch”
Drag the midi into the timeline, then Cubase, get the same error.
Tried exporting the midi as a file and importing it, it works but isn’t in time with the track.
Wasted about 30 minutes, failing to get this to work.
In the end threw away the tempo trrack in Cubase (so running at 120bpm instead fo the song’s 70-75bpm), got SD3 to work out the tempo from the bass and snare drum.
Dragged and dropped the midi into Cubase. It now seems to line up correctly.
Very frustrating (though better than pre SD3 days).
So wish the error message wa more helpful and told me how to solve the issue, I couldn’t find anything about it in the forum, FAQ nor manual.

Have not heard about this error before, sounds like a Cubase issue, could it have anything to do with what is selected in Cubase -> Preferences>Editing Default Track Time Type?

I’ll have a look, but it is an error coming up in the SD3 window not a Cubase error.

I have got the samen error here… Used a tempo map for a brief moment but went for a straight tempo, unable to interact with cubase and SD3
edit: got it…Toggle timebase between musical an linear on the track header. The ( Cubase -> Preferences>Editing Default Track Time Type got me in the right direction)
