I see that when SD3 is running as a VSTi in a DAW (in my case Nuendo) it does follow tempo changes, which is good, but it does not respond to time signature changes. Is there a reason for that?
It always seems to open in 4/4. So if I launch SD3 from within a project that is in 2/4 the bar locations do not match up until the time signature is manually changed.

Yes, there are limitations within the VSTi format that prevent communicating in that manner. You can manually enter time signature changes on the S3 Song Track.

I use SD3 in PRo Tools. I have never used the track part of SD3. I’ve always used either the patterns I have purchased and drag them onto the DAW or created them myself. Either way, the time signatures are not responsible for the playing. You need to create patterns that match the time signature, not the other way around. You have to be musical, not technical.
I write with a lot of time signature changes as well. If I’m using SD3 grooves I too just do all my editing in my DAW rather than SD3. While it can be done in SD3, it’s very confusing as your time sigs are not lined up correctly and trying to get all the time sigs to match in both DAW and SD3 is rather tedious. I assume that the time sig thing is not the fault of SD3. Rather I just don’t think that information is sent by the DAW to a VSTi.

Correct.

Isnt it? SD3’s METRONOME changes signatures when your DAW commands it.. ??

Metronome is tempo but not time signature.

SD3 doesn’t respond to my automated tempo change in ableton, it opts to skip over the notes involved in the tempo change, and then continuing on playing the rest of the midi notes……. thus dis aligning completely from the tempo of the song. the follow button is enabled, seemingly it should be working fine but no dice….changed the tempo within sd3 at the proper spots….no results…same issue occured
