I like the idea and technology of the product line. I do not care for how it is packaged and sold.
I’m interested in 1 to 5 presets in a given “package” but not willing to pay $40 per pack to get them.
I’d be willing to pay, say, $5 per preset after a reasonable preview. I bought 1 EZmix package after buying the intial product b/c I just don’t see the value.
So as it stands now, I do not intend to buy EZ Mix 3.
Just an observation.

Agreed, sort of…I had a tough time with EZ Mix at first, but since using 2, I have found that I use it more and more. I just started using 3 yesterday on a project that is nearing deadline, and even though it is new to me and I’m still figuring it out, the interface is outstanding and I can see it replacing a lot of my other processes. Not gonna tell you to spend the bucks cuz folks is broke these days, but it is (so far) a game changing plugin if for my production process.
EZ mix is pretty much that only effects processor I use now. I do wish there was a preview option for packs (and for expansion packs for Ezdrummer too) but the flip side is sometimes a preset can inspire you unexpectedly so it’s swings and roundabouts. For example, I bought the Metal Fundamentals pack ages ago but never used it in anger yet today it’s suddenly making a lot of sense in the context of the project I’m working on.

I agree. As far as I understand it, in EZMix all the licensed Overloud FX, amp sims, and cab sims are all in the core program and nothing extra is added later.
So the EZMix add-on packages are just basically text files containing a chain of the existing FX with certain settings – there are no new FX/amps/cabs, so it’s not like buying an expansion.
Therefore, it’s more like buying a midi pack. In fact, I think midi packs are harder and more expensive to create than EZMix packs, and in my opinion they should be priced accordingly. If what I’m saying is correct, the EZMix packs should be cheaper than the midi packs.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, Toontrack!

As soon as I found out it does nothing to enhance the several EZ Mix 2 packs I already bought, I decided instantly I’m not gonna touch EZ Mix 3. You put out an upgrade that essentially RENDERS EVERYTHING I ALREADY BOUGHT A “DEAD END.” Geeee there’s that legendary Toontrack “bait and switch” hard at work again. Screw that shit, I’ll mix my own way the hard way.
