The wiper in EZD3 (and EZB) is not in sync with the DAW. It’s early.

Typically users mention which DAW they’re using when having problems in their DAW.

When the problem is the plug-in, the specific DAW doesn’t typically matter. But it’s Digital Performer 11.

I use about 8 different DAWs. I’ve seen this in Reaper before. Reaper was the problem, not EZdrummer. It was easily solvable asking a Reaper community.

    Good luck with your issue.

Thanks. As I mentioned in my original post, this doesn’t occur with any other plug-ins in Digital Performer. It only happens with Toontrack plug-ins.

This can happen if there is much latency in the processing chain. See if it helps to disable other plug-ins.

Thanks for your reply. When you refer to the “processing chain,” do you mean plug-ins inserted in sequence? Because I have no plug-ins in sequence. The EZD and EZB audio-unit plug-ins are instantiated, and there are no other plug-ins inserted after them on those tracks whatsoever.

Also, latency tends to make things late. But in this case, EZD’s and EZB’s wipers are actually early, not late. Also, my buffer is set to 128, which is low. Does any of this add significance?

Yes, I meant plug-ins inserted in sequence – or that other tracks in the DAW have much latency (which means that the DAW must keep the EZD/EZB track in sync with those).

Latency makes the sound come out later than when it is processed/produced. The GUI in EZD/EZB shows the “processing state” in those plug-ins, so it is natural that the GUI is earlier than the sound coming out. In some plug-in formats it is possible for the plug to ask the host what the latency before and after the plug is, so that it may delay its GUI (playhead, etc.) accordingly. This is not something we have implemented but it could explain why some other plugs look more synced.

    Thanks for your detailed reply.

I hope you’ll consider implementing the feature you described in which the plug-ins ask the host for the latency amounts, so that they can delay (or advance) their playheads accordingly.

After previously sequencing MIDI in my DAW for many years, I’m now using the internal Grid Editors for the first time—and I love the features—but I cannot accurately tell where I’m located, which is making it very difficult to work in the Grid Editors (especially with drums), because the wiper never matches the hits that are playing.

    Thank you.
