Hi. I’m a fellow user. When you say it doesn’t work, how is it not working? Do you see EZD in your plug-ins list? Are you planning to use a midi controller to create or are you creating drum patterns in EZD?

    Hi,

what the opening screen is telling you is that the plug-in version has a lower version number than the installed resources.
The explanation for this message tends to be that the user has moved or copied the VST .dll file post first install but since EZdrummer 3 is VST3 only, I doubt that you have moved/copied it, or? Does the Standalone application give you the same error message?

    John

Thanks for the reply. I did not move anything. Just installed the software and tried to run it. It does work as a standalone but I cannot open it in my DAW because I am getting this error message.

I got a reply from support saying

“Please go to C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer 3 and check what the file Aversion contains. Does it start with 3.0.4 or 3.0.5?

Then uninstall EZD3 again using Add/Remove Programs.

After that, check if the C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer 3 folder still exists. If it does, delete it (the “EZdrummer 3″ folder).

Then try and install EZD3 and check if it works.”

I followed all these steps and it still doesn’t work. I was wondering if the issue was my DAW so I tried to open ezdrummer through Ableton and am getting the same error message.

I would like to state however that the file “Aversion” doesn’t start with or contain any number.

Sorry hate asking you to do it again, but… through Add/Remove programs could you remove it AND delete the Aversion file as well.

It’s modified date of Aversion is 02/06/2023 is suspect as the your reinstall date is 10/02/2023.

Yes I did. I uninstalled using add/remove programs and then deleted all ezdrummer files and folders. I don’t know why it says 02/06/2023. I just installed ezdrummer for the first time the other day.

Can you open the Aversion file with notepad?

    What are the contents?

I just checked my VM with Windows and it shows the same modification date as yours.

Also from Windows/File Explorer; Seach Local Disk C: for EZdrummer 3.vst3

    You should only see one.

I am having the exact same problem! I need a solution to this. I have un installed it all and re installed it and it still gives me the same message in Ableton. The stand alone does work though. I sent Toon Track a message about this but never got a reply back yet. Funny thing is that it worked fine for the longest time. But now this!

Did you go through the process in this thread? Did you update EZD3 recently? Did you move the EZD3 plug-in after the original installation? (this is the most common cause).

From Windows/File Explorer; Seach Local Disk C: for EZdrummer 3.vst3.

Remove all of them and reinstall EZD3.

    Hi,

this topic is about having different versions of resources and plug-in on Windows and you are using macOS Sequoia. Please start a new thread about your particular problem, describing what steps you have taken and your system specs.
