In attempt to isolate the issue, I’ve disconnected the cable from cymbal 2 to be certain it’s not triggered by vibrations within the kit, but playing the ride still triggers it in SD3 software. This leads me to some mapping issue I can’t figure out for the ride cymbal itself. In Settings\MIDI in/E-Drums I have selected the TD-10 preset. I’ve selected the Ride under the Show menu and attempted to use the learn button to properly map the ride hoping it would fix this.
I did see another thread where someone had a weird mapping issue and set their TD-10 to only output MIDI channel 1, but this didn’t seem to do the trick. Would love any assistance to point me in the right direction. Including two screenshots of the ride and cymbal 2 mapping page if it helps. I was using SP2 on my old iMac flawlessly for years before being forced to upgrade the software. Thanks in advance!
What notes is your td10 sending from those cymbals? Start at the beginning and check you are sending the default notes. Record the notes of each cymbal and write down what they are. Manually go into edrum settings and change the notes/ articulations to the notes you are transmitting. Learn is good but if you have problems it can get confusing especially if you have crosstalk.

Thanked by: tdunbar79Hey Mark,
Thanks for chiming in. I’m still getting used to this new interface. What I found was these old TD-10’s were expanded to a TDW-10 which allowed you to use a ride with the three triggers we all take for granted now. On the interface of the TD-10 module I had to:
Hit Setup
F1 (Trig)
Switch to Bank 2
That got me a LOT closer. FYI, there were actually 4 banks to choose from, bank 2 was definitely the best for this application. I did go back in and slightly adjust my ride. The bow was trigging a mute instead of the bow. Simple mapping change. The edge was now triggering cymbal 2, which really wasn’t bad, but I like to have my edge trigger a china, so I set that and saved my custom setup.
PEFECT!!! Now I can get some work done (and maybe play a little as well!) Thanks again,
Tim
