I’m finding the tape simulations pretty good so far. Question though: with the “Tape Simulator” preset in particular, it seems the default settings run the signal *really* hot, so there’s no way of using it, for example, to add some subtle shine to the 2-bus. In order to use it in this context I need to reduce the signal into EZmix so that the incoming peaks are around -18dB. The range of the “shape” parameter then becomes more tasteful and less blown-out distortion!
Which leads me to suggest either modifying the “Tape Simulator” preset or creating a new preset with more conservative settings for more gentle “enhancement” applications. Alternatively, an additional “input level” control would really help the plugin overall IMO!
I’ve just bought ezmix and have to agree the tape sim does seem really hot so an input trim or a preset with it less hot would be great. Obviously the idea of ezmix is to keep it, well, ez and so there is a limit to what can be edited and we can’t expect to come back to you guys everytime we want a slight change we can’t make but in this case this appears to be the only preset which is only the tape sim without any other fx so it would be nice to have a few more tape sim presets with the saturation at different levels
pretty please with a cherry on top.
