I have had extra pads for a quite a long time and I want to assign a tambourine sound to a pad. However when I add a tambourine as a user instrument, it takes over the the main hi hat sound. Never did this before. And it is really upsetting me. I am trying not to use foul language. Been doing this for a couple of years like 5,

I have Latin percussion installed, NY avatar, and superior drummer 3

I have been away for a while maybe I am missing an update.

    Ken! You’re back!

I sometimes add a tambourine to the down closed pedal of the hi-hat. Is that what you’re trying to do?

If so, I right/option click the high hat, goto More > Add to  and then select the articulation I want to add it to.

Like below. If that’s not what you’re trying to do then, a little more detail please?

I think I misread your original post. Instead of User Instrument, have you tried just using a “stock” tamborine from “Add Instrument” > Search for Instrument?

Not having a good day to be honest with you. All of my dictation devices seem to be failing today.

So to start over for the fourth time.
Siri has also lost her freaking mind. Which is really starting to get me all upset. when I add a tambourine it takes, or number 46 which is the high hat. So when I play the higher, all I get is a tambourine sound. I have stacked stem breeds on my high hat in the past with no problem, but I cannot seem to add it as a discreet instrument on a discreet padIMG_0026

I would think that you have to change the pad to transmit something other than MIDI note 48. What E-drum setup are you using?

This is not occurring on the E pad and or drum controllers. I have 3 controllers Yamaha DTX 450K, trigger IO #1, and trigger IO #2.

If I disconnect all of the controllers from superior drummer in the setup dialog, this issue still occurs. It is within superior drummer that I’m having the issue. I have stacked tambourines on my high hat many times. Meaning, for this kit or for that kit. On the 450K, it come with a foot pedal for a high hat. I upgraded to the 12 inch real high hat with high hat stand. I also upgraded to the 12 inch 3 zone snare.  This issue occurs when I add an user instruments call tambourine. And it does not seem to be associated with the library that I am selecting it from.

I have Latin percussion installed, NY Avitar, and superior drummer 3.3.6SD3-high-hat-MIDI-note-numbers
It is when I add a user instrument specifically tambourine from any of the libraries the MIDI note #46 is assigned and taken away from the high hat configuration. So when I play the hi hat in any of the open positions I get nothing but a tambourine sound. Very weird never had this before. The splash is still there, but that is a different MIDI note number.

This is the 4th user instrument, do not know if that is specific, to a tambourine or the 4th instrument. It does not appear to be associated with which library it comes from.

    update

if I add a 4th user instrument like a crash symbol that has a MIDI note number of say 115, and then change that instrument to a tambourine everything is fine.
