Something really frustrating is going on. Whenever I add a tambourine groove to my Cubase project, the notes in the project window/piano roll no longer are no longer synced to the sounds. For example, I wanted to add the groove “Only Acc 2 4”, which when previewed in the EZDrummer search gives me two hits, one on beat 2 and one on beat 4. When I drag it to my project, it creates a MIDI part with two notes, clearly visible on beats 1 and beat 3. When playing back, however, the tambourine hits are indeed on beats 2 and 4.
If I click on the tambourine notes in the MIDI editor, there is a delay before I hear them. The other drum sounds are played back immediately. I uploaded a screenshot. The two notes at the bottom are the ones created when copying the MIDI groove to my project. The two higher notes are two snare hits I manually placed on beats 2 and 4. When playing back, both the tambourine and the snare sound at the same time. I just updated to the latest version of EZD2 hoping to solve the issue but no joy there. Have I discovered an obscure bug??
The more I experiment, the weirder things get. If I lower the velocity of the tambourine hits (for example, below 20) the hits are perfectly in time, and loud. As soon as the velocity goes above 40, there is a delay, and the hits get quieter. I did a test (see screenshot). 4 hits, each on the beat, and with increasing velocities. The first hit is the loudest and played back in time with its position on the grid. Hits 2, 3, and 4 are all played back with some delay. Hit 3 is the quietest and hit 4 a slightly louder articulation of hit 3, approximately the same volume as hit 2.
The tambourine hits in the Latin Percussion EZX work as expected. The problems I’ve described here are when using the Pop/Rock kit or the EZDrummer 2 Modern kit.

Be patience with this old video.
Don’t like it? Right-Click on the One-Shot instrument and play that Tambourine instead.
Hope that helps.
