Tab Window Icon Pain

I don’t know about anyone else, but the little window icon on the tab pane is one of the biggest pain points for me. Even using a larger size interface (I have a large 4K screen) I feel like I need pinpoint accuracy of a samurai to get that window.  Luke Skywalker in the Death Star Trench seemed to have a wider latitude than this icon.

That’s my Saturday morning rant.

Can SD3 be made to recognize right click separate from the normal left click? I know it can’t do it now but that would be great if that could happen. That way you’d have the whole tab to click on instead of that gnat’s butt of a button. I know SD3 can distinguish between the two rodent buttons already – how difficult it be to migrate that to the issue on discussion.

Same here, haven’t noticed that icon before.. It’s tiny on a 1920×1080 screen. It must be like clicking on a single pixel on a 4K monitor.

Even when I have the interface scaled at 150% or greater, it is still difficult to click on the icon. I would agree that a far more suitable method would have been something like option-clicking the tab to open the window from the tab.

That would be good. But we all know that Toontrack doesn’t take user suggestions all that seriously.

Sorry, but you’re incorrect there. They listen to us intently. As with all software development, certain features have to be weighed as to whether they are not only feasible but doable within the current model and then it takes time to develop and test. They also have to juggle schedules between multiple products.

Option-clicking or right-clicking would both be nice additions to detach/open a new window.
…maybe even a keyboard shortcut to complement each of the 4 “Open ____ Tab” kybd shortcuts.
