I dragged my piano chords from EZKeys into Logic and did additional editing to them. During one of the chords, the sustain pedal lifts half way thru the chord and I’d like the pedal to be down the entire time. Is there a way I can change the EZKeys automation to keep this chord sustained?
Thanks!
Hi,
is this happening between two blocks or inside one? If the former, try Merging them.
If the latter, no not currently.

I merged that region with the regions just before and after and that fixed the issue. What cause that because I usually split my regions into individual chords and will want to do that again at some time?
I am not sure without having it in front of me. I guess there’s no chance you can reproduce and make a video shot of it, or?

OOps, I thought it fixed the issue. Still happening. Someone else posted the same issue and they too are using Logic pro. Basically on playback, random chords I’ve dragged and dropped into logic will all play but some without the sustain pedal. If I have EZKeys open, I can visually see the pedal coming up after the chord is struck.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the intermittent Sustain pedal “drop-outs” but it’s very easy to adjust Sustain Pedal data on the track in Logic with Hyper draw Sustain view on the Track enabled.

Thanks John, I know this sounds crazy, but this morning the sustain dropouts were at almost 50-60% of the chords. Can you hand hold me thru what you did in Logic to get the situation fixed?
Thanks boss!
OK,
I constructed a part with a “drop-out” in the Sustain data for this short clip.
Was this what you asked about?

John, I did this and honestly, it’s doing it more now. 85% of the chords cut off and for some reason the play button to the left of the song browser button clicks on and off while the song is playing. Totally confused. I deleted EZK from my song, then put a fresh one back in and it’s still doing it.
Help.
just finding this thread.
did de-selecting ‘follow host’ fix this?
i started having this issue this past week, no matter what the sustain info says in Logic’s hyper editor, stuff gets chopped off, when i switch to a different piano in Kontakt 5 everything is fine.
will try de-selecting follow host and see.
I was having the same problem in Cubase 6.5 & it was driving me nuts………
The problem was in the default settings in Cubase. Imported midi files were being split into midi note tracks & controller tracks.
With the controller tracks hidden it seemed as if no sustain info was being imported with the track.
In Cubase go to …..Preferences / Midi File / Import Options / and un-tick the ” Import Controller as Automation Tracks” box and click apply.
It is likely the problem in Logic or any other DAW is caused by the same set-up……..
The other way to sort it, is to find the controller track & point it at EZKeys as well,
I hope this helps
