Superior Drummer Visually Sluggish but sounds fine (macbook 2019)

I just upgraded my macbook from a mid 2014 model to a 2019 model. 8 cores, 16 gb ram, 2.3 processor. Superior drummer ran fine on my old macbook which had less ghz but the same amount of ram. All the drums sound fine, but the program is visually laggy when I use it. The same goes for EZ drummer as well. Am I doing something wrong here? I have tried upping the cores in settings and it has done nothing. With my upgraded macbook, I am confused why this is happening.  Please help.

Operating system: macOS Catalina (10.15)
