What is the normal range when listening to its internal sounds? Does it do partially open or is it just a switch so either fully open or fully closed? What presets have you tried?

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Its fully open, but when I have tried to change range does not work, I mean the pedal doesnt close the Hi Hat.

That problem its using any preset..

The other questions is, what E- drum brand can I use to my Pearl Redbox?

    Thank you.

Have you tried the 2 Pearl E-drum presets to see if Pearl uses a common hi-hat MIDI implementation?

Does the same problem occur with the SD3 standalone application?

FL Studio may be filtering continuous MIDI messages coming in from a controller to plug-ins. To be honest I have no experience with that particular DAW.

Ah if you had said it works in standalone then the answer is easy and nothing to do with sd3. I use Cubase so can’t answer regarding fl studio but as Brad says it is probably a midi filter. Also worth posting on a fl studio forum as it may be a common problem.

Most of the trigger outputs are going to be generic so use a preset that gets most of the drums right. You can then use learn for those that are not correct. I would record the midi sent from the hi hat into a daw and look to see what nite numbers are being sent and if there is cc data. With that info you can manually set up sd3 hi hat.
All this needs to be done in the edrum section and once you have completed it you can save and name your own preset.

The pearl Red Box is basically an Alesis DM 10. So try that preset, Its there under Alesis.
