I just installed version 3.3.7 through the product manager (on macOS 15.4).
When I try to add a cymbal to a kit it disappears as soon as I’ve selected one. I’ve tried with a preset and with an empty kit. Drums work, not cymbals.
The library is on the SSD I got when I bough it. I’ve also tried using the library from a backup disk, same issue.
I’ve tried stand alone and in Logic, same issue.
On the screenshots you can see what I mean with disappearing. There’s no cymbal left in the kit after I’ve selected one.
You might want to try running the Product Manager to see if there are any updates required. You also might want to try Restore Instrument Database in the Advanced Settings. Would probably recommend using the library copy for your interactions.

Thank you for trying to help me. Unfortunately neither fixed the problem 🙁

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.3.7
Operating system: macOS Sequoia (15)
I think it is all ok!
Hi Henrik,
Sorry, my last question, what’s the status of Superior Drummer Library Part 1.2.3?

I’m not sure how to check that, other than in my attached screenshots. The library I’m using is 238 gb and is the one found on the SSD I got with the product.

Thanked by: BradThat tells me that as far as Product Manager is concerned, everything is installed as it should be and is ready to use.
Sorry to have so many questions, and so far no answers. It’s a bit of a mystery so far.
When you startup SD3, it has drums loaded but the cymbals are blank, is that correct?

Hey, I totally appreciate your efforts! Thank you so much!
Exactly. Not all cymbals are blank, but some. And if I change them to other cymbals or start a new empty kit and select new cymbals they go blank.
So when the default kit loads up some cymbals are there and some aren’t. Quite a mystery.
Could you post what the default kit looks like?
In the mean time, I am loading up a new OSX image to try and create a system that has nothing but Superior on it, so we’re close to the same starting point.
Have you tried downloading and re-installing Superior Drummer 3 Library Part 1, from Product Manager?
If not, I would suggest maybe trying that.
I know getting everything on the external drive is done to prevent having to do that, but I am at a loss as to what’s happening.
You may want to put a trouble ticket in and reference this thread as well, through the FAQ page at the top of the forum. (if you haven’t already done so)

Here’s the default kit when loaded. I’ll try reinstalling the library from PM as you suggested. Brb with a report.

Good news! I re-installed the entire library from PM to a new SSD and now everything works. 😊
Thanks for helping me out!

Thanked by: BradHenrik, that’s great! Best to start with a shiny new installation you know works.
Certainly odd behaviour, almost seems like the original install was corrupt and missing some graphics files. Good for you to persevere. I did build a new system, so may try to recreate the situation.
Happy drumming!

Just to add, I was able to recreate your issue. If you still have the original SSD you could look in:
Volumes/Drums/Toontrack/SL-SuperiorDrummer3/GraphicV3
There should be a Cymbal folder.
When I removed the contents of that, I was able to recreate your issue. If you have a minute and could check to see if that’s the case, we may have solved the issue.
