Hi. May i give you a relevant suggestion… when we want to use your instruments in a midi drum editor in a DAW, we have hudges drum maps (and sometimes not very relevant) even if we just use 6, 7 or 8 drums virtual instruments… the result is a very unconfortable midi drum editor view with a lot of blank lines. Some DAW authorizes to cancel blank ones but if we need to add a new drum, it’s not very interreting to do that… To avoid this problem, I suggest you to introduce “articulations” as all others good virtuals instruments which could be selected by “expression maps” or in the future “note expressions”… i give you an example. For a cymbal, with this new midi map organization, we could only use always the same midi note related to this cymbal and we could define the impact point, the mute… by an articulation which could be attached to a keyswitch or a Midi CC … With this new approach, the midi drum editor will be very comfortable for the user… with about ten lines at the top to choose instruments (more for latin percussion of course), velocities at the bottom’as usual to decide the “sound volume” and a relevant expression map at the middle to decide how we use the instrument… i hope that is clear for you… It’s a dream for me ! … and I’m pretty sure that I am not alone on my land…
Thanks for the imput! This wasn’t included in EZdrummer 2, but in Superior Drummer 3 you will have full control of all the midi notes, and more advanced mapping – such as CC etc.
