The bar grid or measures can be divided up to 16ths and beyond by expanding the grid with the mouse or using the button on the upper right , however the minimum chord duration is 1/8 note.   At lease that is my understanding.  In the picture below have devided the bar into sixteen divisions.  I can place a chord at any 1/16 beat but the chord is 1/8 note.

You can cut into 16ths once you have the divisions as jazz man dan shows above so enjoy your very quick changes.

True, but further subdividing can be achieved with the Scissor Tool.
Zoom out to see and cut subdivisions as small as 32nd notes on the grid.

My attachment shows that I’ve cut a chord into 32 tiny pieces.

Yes, I see that, but you can’t place multiple chords on that small a duration with any consistency!  It is hit or miss the closer you put the chords together.  At least in my trials.  But it give it a try if you need those short stabs and see what you get.

You don’t have to put them there –  just cut up a big chord and then change it to what you want.

Not sure what you mean or what issue remains.
I can place whatever chord at whatever 32nd note subdivision needed.
