Yep. Bought this today with the metal EZB and really disappointed that chord extensions aren’t included.
I’m working on a way to use Scaler to create my midi and then import it into EZB. Less than ideal workflow wise.
I was hopeful when I saw the recent update in the PM, especially since they released a jazz midi pack. But no luck.

Yea – I agree. I’m a bit disappointed. I got EZbass thinking that I could incorporate it in my production and just realized that it only has basic major and minor chords.
I know ToonTrack listens to its customers – that I know for sure. So, I am putting a hold on EZBass right now or just manually create my bass line until ToonTrack update EZBass to include ALL chords. It should not be limited to only TWO TYPES OF CHORDS (MAJOR AND MINOR). No one creating fusion, pop, jazz, gospel, rock, etc. will tell you their songs only include basic major and minor chords.
In any case, I am looking forward to any updates.

Thanked by: st_1I also second the request for extended chords, as in EzKeys. This make the integration with EzKeys quite poor, at least for me: the “engine” of EzBass cannot follow the complex harmonies I can create with EzKeys. But also without complex stuff, do you want to create some tension with an altered chord? No way EzBass will play something decent on that. So, if I end up having to write the bass lines myself, why do I need EzBass? Unforntunately I did not realize it before buying it.
Yes….same here. I literally just bought this to use in my current song that has got a dominant chord in it (as many of mine do), and I’m extremely surprised that there’s such a lack of extended chords. I’m also somewhat surprised that none of the reviews (that I read at least) mentioned this đ
So does the Jazz, Fusion or Funk Midi packs have midi which hits the extensions? I don’t have any of these as I usually write/play my own bass lines anyway and just use the much better sounds of EZBass to replace my crappy bass playing.
Agree.  Having extended chords would make me love and recommend this even more!  An additional benefit would be that users could learn what potential baselines might be with more chord smarts from you all. . .I find myself looking at even the simple maj/min baselines after they are generated as a way of understanding the craft of bass.  SoâŚyes please.  Eagerly awaiting and raising my hand fir this too.
Question for those asking for the extended chord types… what if you used the groove editor and customize the closest chords currently available? Is there something about that that don’t work? I find myself tweaking chords in the editor very often with good results. But I wonder if I’m missing something since I’m not an experienced bassist.
I donât think there is anything wrong with that. It is a âwork-aroundâ and you have to think like a bass player. I am a keyboard player, I think like a keyboardist. Â When a bassist is playing a line for a chord, he is thinking about it differently than I would as a keyboardist. THAT unpredictability of the bassist mindset is what we are looking for in addition to not having to try to tweak almost every intermediate chord. As you can imagine, and may have experienced, this can be time consuming. It would save a lot of time for the bass player to hear the chords being play and he just accompany it playing the right bass note – just as we would expect from a true player
Can you imagine hiring a bass player and you have to show him what to play when playing anything other than basic chords? That player would be fired so quicklyâŚLOL. All jokes aside, we do get the work-around. I am sure everyone has been doing that, including myself.
We just want the bass player to be able to play. I am a gospel keyboardist who plays pro-level chords all the time. Right now, with all the nice grooves our bass player (EZBass) can play, his chord vocabulary is at the basic level and we are asking Toontrack for a bass player (to upgrade/teach our player) to not only play super nice grooves as it currently does, but, to also understand and properly play at the advanced chordmanship level.
EZBass right now is an entry level player as far as chords is concern.

Thanked by: Scott Hopkins and Mistro49I also urgently need extended chords inside EBX. It would be great if you include same chords selector in EZBas as the one in EZkey.

Thanked by: edwardjcfurther to the discussion i’d also like to request of toontrack to explore the options for ‘exotic’ chords diminished flattened 5ths and augmented etc.
it’s the one glaring deficiency with Ez Bass.
truly hope to see this evolve within the software

Was this ever resolved? Would love to able to customize some of the bass phrasing.
