I’m currently using Ableton, and for a while now SPD won’t playback sound unless the application is open in the daw. E.g. SPD begins at bar 17, I begin playback from the beginning of the timeline once the timeline reaches bar 17 the drums will not begin to play unless I open the plugin window. When I first purchased SPD around 4 months ago I had no problems but now it’s just begun doing this. I’ve also tried running in ProTools but to no avail.
Hi,
while I can replicate in Live Lite 10, I cannot force Pro Tools to behave this way. I am trying to figure out if there’s a setting in Live that can change this.
You are talking about having MIDI on the Song Track in SD3 with the plugin window closed, right?

Please try using the AU version in Live instead of the VST.

I have this same problem. Really kills my workflow.
I’ve resorted to exporting MIDI and then importing into an ableton track. It completely kills all the usefulness that is built into SD3.
Running on windows 10. Ableton 9 standard.

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.1.7

This was fixed in version 3.1.3. Are you sure it says 3.1.7 in the SD3 interface?

Thanked by: Shaun PenaYOU’RE RIGHT!!! It is fixed! I had updated recently but had not actually checked for that fix because I did not expect a fix. So in a new session we are good.
However, I have a new problem. I have a session that was started in 3.1.1 and now in 3.1.7 I just get an error message saying I need to reinstall because of different resources. I’m afraid of losing my drum setup and midi that was saved in the plugin if I do that. Why does it work in new sessions? Why can’t I convert it somehow?
