SNARE SOUNDS NOT WORKING when selected from other EZ libraries

When I select a snare from a different library to the one I am currently using the sounds is TERRIBLE. For example, if I am using the EZD ‘”modern kit” and I select a snare sound from a sound expansion pack (EZX) the sound is JUST AWFUL. This happens with ALL the snare sounds TAKEN FROM OTHER KITS. 

I have recently purchased EZD 2 and I immediately downloaded MADE OF METAL and POST-ROCK. If I am using POST ROCK EDX and I select a snare from MODERN the snare sounds DISGUSTING.

This is very troubling as the whole idea behind Toontracks is to build a usable library of sounds.

Another example, I cannot use a “black beauty” from MADE IN METAL with the VINTAGE vistalite. I CANNOT USE ANY SNARE SOUNDS FROM OTHER KITS. The sounds trigger but sound TERRIBLE AND GROSS.

Sorry for repeating myself but I just want to make myself clear.

P.S I have a Mac and all my Toontrack  software and operating system is UP TO DATE.

I have an idea that may work for you. If you want a different snare, you can use the original kit of the snare you want, then change the rest of the parts(cymbals, kick, tom, etc.) you don’t like.

I do have the same result, I choose from another kit and no sound coming from snare Chanel, only overhead Chanel, causing it sound terrible, I don’t know how to fix this

Hello! NO, the sounds are just TERRIBLE. from expansion pack to expansion pack! (even when 1 superior drummer 3 expansion pack is divided in 2 and sold as 2 separate packs like DARK MATTER AND DEATH METAL even then the sounds are not interchangeable )

 

When I got this EZD I assumed the ENTIRE concept was that ALL THE DRUM SOUNDS WOULD BE 100% interchangeable. But alas they are not. not even close.

So if you want that special sound. pay 89 euro for it.

You’re right, the interchange doesn’t work properly but I humbly urge you to try different options inside the same expansion. BTW I assume and hope you’re using Ez drummer 3 which is much better with more tweaking options in mixing and much better UI.

There are a lot of mixing presets to try in every expansion and if they don’t sound good, try the “original mix” feature. Of course, there are really low quality EXZ’s like “Metal!”(it was made during Ezdrummer 1) and some EZX’s might not be right for every song but if you have more expansions you might eventually find one that suits your style.

Listen to the audio demos of the expansions, check out which drums they use, and then make your choice. I have tried a couple of other drum plugins and find this is the best for me.
