I had to reinstall ezDrummer due to some computer issues. I used the sound mover utility on the original install to point the samples to an external drive. However, now when I reinstall the program, the samples and MIDI are being saved to my internal SSD drive under Application Support instead of my external.
I tried to run Sound Mover again but when I try to select the external drive as the destination, I get an exclamation mark and a message that reads:
“Sound Mover Utility can’t be installed on this disk. A newer version of this software already exists on this disk.”
So now how do I move the samples to the external after a reinstall? Can I uninstall Sound Mover from the external drive? If so, how?
Hi,
have you run the latest available EZdrummer update before trying to run SoundMover and point to the external drive?

John

John, I didn’t update yet. On version 1.3. Let me try to update and then run Sound Mover again. Thanks!
I’m on a mac 10.8.4 using ProTools 10.3.7, my expansion packs were originally on external disks, have just installed EZDrummer 1.3.3 AND all the packs on my iMac. EZDrummer can’t find the content. I’ve been trying the soundmover, but it does not give me a new place to put my packs, and they are already in the place I want them.
Can someone PLEASE give me a detailed step-by-step on how to successfully make this work.
All help greatly appreciated.

Yes EZDrummer 2 and up you can simply move the full sample folder and start EZDrummer, it will then give you the option to navigate to the new location.
