I installed SD3 and all of the 5 libraries onto my internal MBP SSD drive. I expected to see the samples themselves installed in the Application support > Toontrack folder. Instead – it looks like it kept all of the large sound library folders in the Toontrack folder in the DOWNLOADS folder along with some .ZIP files, installer, etc.
There is a folder in the application support folder but the entire SD3 folder in that location is 850mb so clearly not the sound files themselves. Why didn’t the installer move the sound files there as well?
Installation went smoothly and I didn’t adjust any settings during installation.
Is this normal and/or should I move them elsewhere?
Confirm you’ve done this…
In SD3 Menu>Settings>Library Paths… this is where your sounds got stored.
About the downloads folder. In Product Manager, Left Colum, did you choose to “Free Up Disk Space”? If not, that’s why your Downloads folder still has stuff in it.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanThose file paths are all set correctly.
I haven’t chosen to delete downloads yet. The problem is that the sounds folders are only in the download folder. Not the application support > Toontrack > SD3 folder as I stated.
I would have expected these 40GB folders to go to Downloads first – then during installation get moved and/or copied to the other folder.
One would think I have two copies at this point since I chose not to delete the downloads.
I sure don’t see them anywhere else but in downloads though.
Ignore. Found the folder. I thought it was in app support Toontrack. Didn’t realize it created a folder at the root level of the app support folder called superior drummer.
You can move this to anywhere you like and then just point sd3 to it. As said earlier it tells you where the sound files are under menu>settings>library path.
Most on here move or install to a separate drive. I use a m.2 drive as the kits load much faster.
