Hi, just have a project on the go now (Ezdrummer 2) where the snare in the Overhead track sounds distinctly left panned. If I eliminate snare bleed into the OH’s I lose the snare. But by the same token, I don’t want to start a mix where the snare is so apparent in the left. The OH’s are panned hard left and hard right…so theoretically the snare should be dead centre. But it’s louder on the left.
How can I rectify this and have the snare right down the middle? (without making the OH’s mono!)
Thanks
Hi,
it’s not as easy as with SD3 but one way I’d go about it would be to load a duplicate instance of EZdrummer 2 where the only loaded instrument is the Snare and unload it in the first instance. (Feed both instances the same MIDI)
Then you can pan the Left more to the middle in the 2nd instance.
On another note, there is nothing unnatural with hearing the Snare more in one channel if you have stereo microphones in front of a drum kit, since the Snare isn’t placed in the middle.

Thanked by: MattHi, i have the same issues in SD3.
Kick on one side in oh, and room, and snare on the other side resp.
I normally use more snare in oh and room channels, than kick (volume).
If i mute close mics i hear the kick 3db louder on one side and the snare 3db louder on the other side.
What is going on???
I have a tricky project right now, and stumbled apon this while looking for mistakes??
Kind regards // Bjorn.
