Snare articulation samples won’t trigger. Why?

I’m having issues with the sidestick and other snare articulation samples. The midi notes are loaded in the groove editor and they work only on the “Center” and “Rimshot” line. But when I move the midi notes to another articulation, like Off Center, Edge, Sidestick, and Rim Only, it’s silent. When I click the rim with my mouse, the indicator light comes on but no sound. I’ve tried changing out the snare drums and removing all stacks, but the effect is the same on all snares whether stacked or single. The articulation titles are not dimmed, indicating that they’re on and should be working, but still, no sound. I’ve checked the mixer and nothing is muted and all faders are up. I’ve gone through the whole drum kit to make sure all the other instruments/articulations are functioning and they are. The only ones NOT functioning are the ones I mentioned. How do I fix this?

Hi,

can’t reproduce here but OTOH I do not have your particular project, so there’s a lot of parameters missing for me.

First off, are you really on 3.2.4? It is a 2 year old version, the current version is 3.3.4 so my first advise would be to update.

If you are updated, could you please ZIP the Project in question and attach to a post here, so we may have a look at it?

Hello John,

I have upgraded to the latest, but that didn’t solve the problem. But I did figure out a work around. I had to create a stack and apply a sidestick sound there in order for it to work. I’ve never had to do anything like this before but at least it’s to a point that I can hear it. Go figure. When you say “Zip the project” do you mean the whole Pro Tools session?
