Slightly complex EZd1, EZd2 plus expansions set up

Scenario is:
EZ drummer 1, and many expansions installed on two machines (home studio and laptop).
Ideally I want to install EZ drummer 1 plus some expansions on two new studio machines.
I want to install EZ drummer 1 on the new machines because I want to ensure that all the machines/Logic songs/EZ drummer are compatible.

Q. If I buy an EZ Drummer 1 boxed version with free upgrade to EZd2 can I stick with version 1 and not upgrade?

Q. The FAQ says that new expansion packs bought after May are not compatible with EZd1 – can you sell me additional licenses on top of my two active licences for some expansion packs to get around this?

Yes, You can install only version one if you choose… However EZDrummer 1 has been discontinued so It will be quite hard to find a dealer selling version 1. EZDrummer 2 is fully compatible with EZDrummer 1. Meaning all of your old projects that used EZdrummer 1 will work exactly the same way with EZDrummer 2.

This FAQ does not refer to expansions that are bought after May 6th… It refers to New expansions that are created by Toontrack after May 6th. As of today (June 4th 2014) there are NO new expansions that have been created since EZDrummer 2 was released on May 6th.. therefore all currently available EZX’s on Toontrack.com will indeed work with EZD 1 (as of June 4th 2014).

In the future when you hear about a brand new EZX release from Toontrack, it will not be compatible with EZdrummer 1.
