Simple Straight Beats

I’m doing a project that requires a straight, simple beat—something basic like the kick on 1 & 3 with a closed hi-hat playing 8th notes.  I own approximately 6-8 midi packs, including a variety of country, folk, and rock packs, but I can’t find anything like this.  Everything either has some sort of swing in it or is dominated by fills that disrupt the simple driving beat I’m looking for.  I tried to use settings to edit the beats, but I couldn’t get it to where it needs to be.

Does anyone know of midi packs that might have something like this?

Such simple grooves are hard to find in Toontrack. You can try Tap2Find, with the Search Webshop button switched on. Do you have one where the first half is as you want it? If so, cut it in half and you have your groove.

Hi,

when I check by just modifying the first pretty straight beat I can find in the Grid Editor, then drop it on Tap2Find, I get pretty many results: The Classic, The Americana, The Stories, The Nashville, The POP!, The UK Pop, The EZD3 Core,  etc.

Try it yourself and click the ‘Shop Web Shop MIDI’ button to see what’s available to buy. Fills at the end of grooves can just be cut and you can paste the end Beat(s) from an earlier Bar.
