Hi all. Noob here. Enjoying it so far. DFH brilliant. Post Metal ok…needs more midi to show off what it can do…
my question: what is the purpose of having more than one track.
In any given session you’d only work with one song/one timeline at once, right?
Are the different ‘tracks’ for variations on your original project (but then, why not save different variations using ‘save as’?)
There is probably a really useful purpose for this function, but I’m not seeing it.
cheers
I’ve made a song with two drum tracks. One has one kick drum for most of the song. The other has two kicks, tuned high and low, in the bridge.
Different versions of a song to try out. Different tracks allow different tempos and time sigs.
Here’s a video where I use a separate track as a sorting utility which is common for my workflow.

Thanks fellas, that makes sense. I like the ‘boneyard’ idea… it looks like a more efficient way of assembling a collection of grooves, rather than having to go back to the browser every five minutes…?
Cheers
