That’s most likely down to the snare wires being made to rattle in the samples. Which room are you doing this in? Are you working in Grid Editor or a DAW? What have you tried doing?

    Hi,

seconding Mick’s request for more information to be able to help; are you trying to trigger a sidestick from a MIDI Controller / a DAW?

Are you trying to move hits in the Grid Editor? If so, there is a small down arrow right next to the ‘Snare’ name in the Snare lane which can be expanded to reveal individual articulations.

Are you trying to isolate the Sidestick from Snare wire rattle? In EZD3, the most efficient way would be to lower/mute the Snare Bottom Mic and/or lower the drum bleed into the OH channels on the Mixer page.

    BR,

Mick: not sure of the room at this moment, but I believe I’ve used two so far…no, not working in Grid or a DAW. I believe I’m in “stand alone” mode—in other words, I’m using it like a live thing and taking my audio interface outs over to my console area and plugging in to my recording inputs. (Yes I know, an antiquated way of doing it but I’m old 😆)

As far as what I’ve done…whew! I’m not so sure. I believe that I’ve had some minor success with whatever mode/page that shows “articulation and velocity” tabs. Under the articulation section I see several things—notably RIM and ??stick”. Somehow I worked with them by changing the note numbers (adding or clearing etc.) and somehow ended up with a closer version of what I wanted, but still not a “plain or clean” stick sound like I’ve been used to in my old Roland TD6 module. Sorry, I’m not real savvy at this stuff so I’m poor at explaining what I’ve tried…many times things are “trial and error” with me. 🤪

    Thanks John…

I’m triggering from my edrum mesh snare pad (hoping to simply replace the snare or snare/rim sound since this whole song is completely sidestick)
Also, simply using this program as if it were live—just sending my output lines over to my console inputs.

I’ll  give your suggestions a try. Sounds like that could do the trick. 😊

Sorry it’s been so long getting back here…

I did find the answer to the process of getting this sound. I can’t recall exactly but hopefully I’ll get back to it soon and take notes on what I did. I do remember that it dealt with the snare section attributes and note numbers (I think) and taking away some elements. Or changing the numbers…I just know I stumbled onto it and was shocked it worked! (I should know to document these things by now but I always think “I’ll remember that” and then…not much…LOL
