Hey,
Thinking about buying ezdrummer/superior drummer, ezplayer pro and some midi packs.
I have used this setup on a friends computer who also has groove monkee midi files and programs drums in sibelius.
I already have sibelius and I noticed that the groove monkee gm midi files open perfectly including drum clef and mapping that conforms to the PAS standard.
The ezdrummer midi files import with a bass clef and are notated low with ledger lines.
The objective is to program drums in sibelius for entire songs and to be able to print the score for live drummers.
Is it possible to convert the ezdrummer midi files to gm midi mapping so they display properly?
Cheers,
Snake…
I suspect that Sibelius just treats any events on channel 10 as percussive parts and anything else as melodic parts.
For reason of optimal workflow with the largest number of hosts the EZdrummer MIDI files (and any MIDI content provided by Toontrack for that matter) are specified on channel 1 however.
It should be trivial to alter the channel on the pieced up track in any host. As for mapping, we make no provision that our MIDI is GM compliant, although compatibility exist to a level so, even if Sibelius recognizes your track as drums once the channel has been changed to 10 it definitely is not going to work regardless when it comes to print scores.
You may however use EZplayer to convert your track to a GM mapped track however, that is one of its function.
