After working up my first conversion with a successful outcome, thanks to John, I started a new file. I did the hats first and have one spot where the hat opens and closes, you know, the old Shhhhoooop. I have it highlighted and have tried several open hats starting with wide open. What do you do with this one? How should I convert it.

Actually I’m having a heck of a time with the section from 4.000 to just after 6.00 out to the end. That is a tricky shuffle that I wish this program would provide for some manner of slowing down durning audio playback analysis to hear and discern the hits from one another. I dropped Mattias an email making a suggestion to consider a variable speed adjustment to allow slowing down the playback for just this situation. Were talking a shuffle between the kick, snare and hat all quite tricky to set up. I had hats hitting extra but I’m not sure what the deal is. Give it a listen and let me know how one might approach working out the specified area of this waveform. I did make two passes, one for hats and one for kick and snare but my results were dismal. I take responsibility for the result, I just need to figure out how to set up and execute a plan of attack around said location.

Well,
don’t forget that this tool is primarily for drum replacement and then you have separate audio files for each instrument.
However, with a bit of tweaking and use of other tools you have available, you can still get good results.
I duplicated your file and used Soundtrack Pro (I’m sitting with my MacBook right now) to filter out the hihat, for easier detection and listening.
Check the DT project.

Thanks, I was thinking I should work on it in my host (Logic Pro 9.02) but I think in order to do a open close stomp pedal hi hat, I will need to use the keyboard for that part. What do you think?
I can pull out as much as I can with Drumtracker™ and try to fill in the parts on keyboard for the rest. That shuffle is a classic Bonham riff just open and closing the hi hat with the hi hat pedal. use wide open and then stomp it closed with a closed hat sound? Would that work?
What would you suggest to create the Shhhooop or when the hat is hit then immediately opened up and closed.

Well,
you would get more realism if you use the HatsTrig notes instead and use the Mod Wheel to open and close.
A bit like if you were using E-drums and hit the pad then open and close with the foot.
If you “open” quickly with the Mod Wheel, you should get a splash. If you try this, keep in mind that the CC messages scale is reversed, so Mod Wheel untouched makes a fully open sound and then increasing Modulation closes the sound.

Can you recommend a good Command Controller Hat Foot pedal? I saw one in the Demo Booth at NAMM when I visited Toontrack® Recently. The one guy using it was using the Korg Micro pad as well. I think they can plug directly into the Keyboard correct?
