Hi hope you’re all well, I Just wondered if you could answer a question, Should the humanize button be on at all times? I was in the grooves tab and dragged a groove down to the song track But then I accidentally clicked on the grid editor and i noticed that humanize button was turned on. Now I don’t use the grid editor much because I’m pretty new to midi so just wondered if that should be on or off
thanks, Rory
No that’s not necessary. It should be turned off in the Grid Editor by default. Use it when you make your own beats. All the grooves in the Grooves tab are made by a real drummer. Have a look at Shawn from Shootie School on YouTube.
Yes that’s what I thought, I’ll turn it off from now on, I Just wanted to double-check
hi Happy New Year to you all, Just Another quick question I know I’m probably being a pain,
Does the humanize button have to be turned on when replacing midi from the browser Over your own chord progression?
What browser? Look at the velocity, in the Grid Editor choose all (cmd A) if you’re on a Mac, if they’re all lined up horizontally use Humanize. In the Timing tab, you have even further options. Or go the hard way and do it manually.
ok, i meant does the humanize have to be on when using the replace midi function in the grooves tab
sorry for any confusion May have caused
No, it does not. As I mentioned before the MIDI in the Grooves tab is recorded with and played by a real drummer. Do yourself a favour and experiment with the velocity tab open in Grid Editor, then you can see what happens! And remember to choose all parts of the drums! And use your ears!
