Seventies Rock EZX not working ??? help
I get error message saying that there is problem and to install updates, but I have??
I am getting the same problem with Seventies Rock sound library not working and to update, but it is up to date.
I have two laptops, both HP with Windows 10.
It works fine on one of the laptops but not on the one I am needing it to work which also has my Pro Tools 10 set up.
All my other EZ kits are working fine, just the Seventies Rock kit issue as above.

Please download the Toontrack Product Manager and install from there instead of from the website.

Yes have done that.
That’s how I originally downloaded the product, as all my Toontrack Account products. When I have EZ Drummer Seventies Rock open and click on the link, it says the sound library is not working properly and needs to be updated, but then in Product Manager it is fully updated..
Hi Julian,
have you tried to uninstall the EZX and re-install it?
Which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer 2 interface (lower right corner)?
Which link are you referring to?

John

Hi John,
I did try a repair install by inserting the original EZ Drummer disc. If all else fails I will try a complete uninstall / reinstall.
The EZ 2 version is 2.2.1 (64 Bit) on the interface.
My apologies, where I said ‘link’, I meant the actual Seventies Rock kit title in my EZ library.
I actually found the EZ 70’s file location on my laptop where the EZ 70’s program is working correctly, so I’ll go find that exact original download file on the other pc and see if I can re-extract the files again and see if that helps. I copied the details of the file so I know what to look for on the other pc.
If that doesn’t work then I’ll try the complete uninstall/reinstall.
Kind regards,
Jules
Possibly might be onto something now.
In Product Manager in EZ2 Upgrade it had EZ Drummer 2 for Windows 7 or newer (version 2.1.8) as being installed, but on the EZ Drummer interface screen it has version 2.2.1.
After doing an uninstall/reinstall it is now showing that version 2.1.8 as only ‘partly installed’ and that *64-bit is not installed.
It’s a 3.2GB download so will take a few hours yet.
Hopefully this may be the issue. Not sure yet, but obviously that needs to be downloaded anyways, and was previously showing as installed.
Ok so after all that, the same issue still exists with the ‘sound library not working properly and requires an update’ yet everything is completely updated.
Like I said it works on one of my laptops but not my studio pc with Pro Tools 10 installed. All other EZDrummer kits and midi packs in my account work perfectly fine in this same pc.
I have also found the file location and tried to extract the file again..
And if you run the latest 2.2.1 updater and make sure to Customise to check that all components are checked for install?

John

I’ve tried everything I can think of for many days at a time. The issue still remains.
On the 70’s kit error pop up, it states it requires an update. In both the Product Manager and Toontrack website it says that everything is up to date.
Ive located the file, re-extracted the file, re-downloaded the program many times, updated EZ2 many times.. checked the properties, checked the sound library in actual EZ2..
There are no library files showing up for Seventies Rock and the drum parts are blackened to display ‘not working’..
I did notice yesterday that you can still play the three percussion instruments to the right being the ‘clappers, triangle and shakers’ from memory. I rarely use those..
In the error it does mention TTAUTH file..
I haven’t found a decent site or way to open or understand what that is fully as yet.
The program works fine on my other PC.
All other EZ kits and libraries work fine on that same particular PC with Pro Tools 10 installed.
Hi Julian,
I suspect that your problem is two-fold and one thing has something to do with Pro Tools 10 not being a hybrid, not a “real” 64-bit application IIRC.
Well, I would think it’s best if you contact Toontrack Support directly via any of the FAQ pages and submit a Support Ticket, so you can get this solved ASAP, they can give a more direct support than we do here on the Forum.

John
