I have been pushing the limits of my Laptop(i7 16 gigs RAM QUAD Core) by using 8 or so instances of SD3 in one Ableton Live session(i have turned off bleed and selected less articulations etc on each instance) It works for the most part but today as i added 1 more SD3 instance the tracking on the snare started to do strange things and i got some initial buzzes and electronic ‘glitch’ sounds upon booting up my Ableton session. I noticed in SD3 under Settings/Performance that there is an option to change the amount of CORE’s , mine is currently set at 1. In theory would changing this to 4 alleviate the strain on my session? i did try changing it to 4 Core’s but my CPU went to %280 . Do i need to adjust something in Ableton?
In general is this CORE setting something that could benefit me since i have a QUAD Core Laptop?
Thanks!
I had big playback problems with my 2017 MacBook Pro using more than 1 core. I switched to 1 core and never looked back. SD3 has been working great since.

Thanked by: Isaiah MarshallJust try it out as it can be different on different computers. You are running 8 instances so it may not be up to the job.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
If you are running eight instances, the number of cores is probably the least likely issue, where the amount of RAM that you have is probably your biggest obstacle. Your system is probably paging out memory, causing your glitches.
