Hard to tell as there isn’t much details. I’ve never had issues transferring projects between computers. How are you sending it? As well, are you using the latest versions of Superior Drummer on both machines?

First idea I have is try and just merge all of your original midi blocks together into one file and then you can cut and edit where you want once you’ve imported it to the other computer

I’ve tried “save as” and “save a copy”, then seeing it was only 128kb (obvious cue it’s not the whole file) I emailed it anyway. The result when opening on the other end was getting just the first MIDI block.

Because I had tested a save and re-open with the 2nd app version on the laptop, and it worked fine, I thought maybe the 128kb file was somehow enough to contain the whole track. Yeah – I was doubtful, of course. I was expecting to use Drive for a big file, but didn’t bother due to the small size.

I also did a MIDI file export, but dragging it into PT just got me the MIDI, not the blocks in SD3 Grooves I was working with and want to edit. I tried opening the transferred, saved files in SD3 while open within PT, but same result: only the first block/measures of the track.

I’m sure I’m missing something simple. I’ve mainly used SD3 for the awesome sample quality, playing Rolands for live tracking the MIDI tracks. So even though I’ve used it for years, I’m a rookie with writing and transferring. Thanks for your reply – much appreciated.

I’ll try that – a little green with anything more than using SD3 as a sample source, so will figure out merging. Thanks for replying.

Hey Folks – I now have a second copy of SD3 on my laptop (main copy has been only on my dedicated desktop Mac along with PT). I tried writing a trial drum track on the laptop and sending it to the desktop version. But it only opens with the first section of the intro. When I open the same file again back on the laptop (after saving and closing) the whole song is there. What am I doing wrong with the transferred copy? I’ve tried saving just a MIDI file, but I want the sample beats library blocks (or whatever they’re called) transferred for continued editing. Why am I only getting the first block?

I’ve used SD3 mostly as a live midi recording tool with my Rolands, so just now getting to know it as a writing tool. Feeling numb…

Thanks for any help.  -Nick B.

    Hi there,

One thing that jumps out at me, are you really on SD3 version 3.1.2? If yes… try updating both copies to the latest version and see if that helps.

Saving a project file and opening on another system, with all the MIDI blocks intact is a pretty basic thing and should work.

That did it. Opened the file properly after the update. I thought it had been updated – I should know to always check.  Thanks again.
