In Ezkeys 1 I used to be able to assign the instrument patch control to a couple of rotary knobs on my (admittedly) very basic Roland A-88 midi controller – which was very convenient. This doesn’t seem to be possible in EzKeys 2, as those drop-down controls no longer appear to be assignable.
Is that correct or am I missing something obvious? I can assign other controls, such as the FX rack, but it is the switching of instrument patches that I particularly wanted to be able to do.
Thanks in advance
Andy
Hi,
with the VST3 standard, Steinberg removed the regular Program Change via MIDI🙄.
If you go into the EZkeys Settings of the VST3 version, you can still Enable Bank Select.
On Windows, this is harder to get around, since you cannot choose another format, like AU. Well, AAX exists on both Mac and Windows but it’s Pro Tools only.
Why not an EZkeys VST2 version?
Well, if I understand it correctly (I may be wrong but…) EZkeys 2 wasn’t created until after Steinberg stopped issuing VST2 licenses, so it’s not an option.

John
