Just upgraded to the latest version of SD3 and the new orchestral expansion. I tried to load it in FLS, Maschine and standalone. No errors it just never loads.
It finally loaded after I let it sit for over 40 minutes. SD3 normally takes less then a minute to load.
Have you added any disk to the computer recently or inserted any removable media, e.g. an SD card?

No I have not added any new hardware. Everything loaded fine this morning before I upgraded SD and installed orchestral. It finally loaded in FLS also.
I have rebooted and am running another test to see how long it takes to open stand alone. Is there a log generated somewhere? everything works when it finally loads and I can switch between kits without issues.
I was able to resolve the loading issue by reverting to version 3.1.2 but I could not use some of my updated libs. The issue returned after trying to upgraded back to 3.1.3. Let me know if you need anything from me to help troubleshooting this. Thanks. Dusty.
2019-05-07 13:09:18: Error: Copy error 0x1E3: The request failed due to a fatal device hardware error.
2019-05-07 13:09:18: Error: Failed to copy file to “G:\Sound lib\Toontrack\Superior\Superior Drummer 3\SL-Orchestral-I\GraphicsV3\Stand\CymbalStand_L45.png”
Saw these 2 lines in the log file so I reinstalled Orchestral-I. The log is clean now but 3.1.3 is still slow loading.
There an errlog.doc in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3.
Have you tried to open 3.1.3 without having Orchestral? You can disable it for example by renaming the SL-Orchestral-* folders (add an “x” at the start or something).

But it’s more likely that something is wrong with your core library after you updated it. That “fatal device hardware error” indicates that the G: disk may have a problem.
What you also could do is save a dump file (using the Task Manager) for the SD3 process when it’s taking a long time starting. I can then analyze it and see what SD3 is doing.

Thanked by: dusty russellThank you for your help with this Olof. I tried disabling Orchestral by renaming the folder but this did not help. I am highly confident the hardware is not the issue here. The drive it is installed on is less then 2 months old 2tb Samsung ssd. The dump file is 248 megs. The forum will not allow me to post it (Error! The file is too big). If it was a core library issue wouldn’t the problem persist when I downgraded?
Forgot to mention C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3 did not contain any errlogs. also the soundinstallerlog was clean after I did a reinstall.

No, the core library isn’t fully loaded when you downgrade, because it requires 3.1.3.
I’ll send you an upload request for the dump file separately.

Looks like you are on to something. Once it loaded (45 mins) I switched to a bunch of other kits and they loaded fine. When I tried to go back to the SD3 core lib it is stuck on preparing superior drummer 3.
Try to install the sound library update again? In Product Manager under SD3 Library Part 1, click Show Details, download and install the sound library update 1.1.3 (start the installer from the small menu to the right).
If that doesn’t help, we could check the md5 checksums of the installed library files.
