Thanks in advance for any help.
I’m running SD3 in the most current version of Logic X (updated Jan 19), but was having same problem before updating (had hoped latest update would fix). OS 10.13.6 with 40g of RAM.
I converted some Logic Drummer performances to standard midi files, then uploaded them into SD3. Playback is fine. But the second I go in to edit files in Grid editor, it crashes Logic. Just clicking to open the Grid editor…crash. Also, if I want to change SD3 tracks to a track that includes imported midi (i.e., switch between track 1 and track 2), instant crash. Not sure what I’ve done, as the converted midi works fine with my other drum programs (e.g., SSD, Kontakt).
Anyone else have this problem? Any work arounds other than just doing all my drum editing in the piano roll in Logic X?
Again, thanks in advance. g
I assume you are using the latest version of SD3 – v 3.1.2?
Can you export the problematic MIDI from Logic and post it here so we can have a look at it?

Yes, definitely running the latest SD3.
I attached one of the tracks from the project, though this file is the result of exporting the midi from SD3. Tried to upload the entire SD3 Project (4mb) but said that’s too big to post. The second file TSD_KyleDrums2.mid is the standard midi file i IMPORTED into SD3, which was converted from Logic Drummer to use along with my Toontrack midi.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
This crash happens in 3.1.2 because there are notes with number 0 (C-2) on the track. If you edit TSD_SD3InProgress_011019.mid in Logic, you can remove the C-2 notes and import it to SD3 again (without applying any e-drum preset).
The original MIDI does not contain any C-2 notes, so I’m not sure how they could have appeared. Did you use any e-drum preset when you imported the original MIDI to SD3?

Sorry to revive an old thread but why does this happen? I have a midi file doing exactly the same thing. As soon as I go into Grid Editor, the program just exits if using in Standalone or it crashes the DAW. Tried both Pro Tools and Logic. However in the DAW if I import the midi to the daw, SD3 will play back perfectly. So frustrating!
Check the piano roll or event editor in Logic to see if there are any stray notes or CC information.
