What version of Superior Drummer 3 are you using?

I am having this same issue. I like to start doing my track in Superior but then export to studio one so that I can have multiple tracks controlling the kit. Makes it easier to work through hihats and things as separate tracks merging parts from different loops. However, I cannot do this because the exported midi is not correct. It will do things like have the hihat open when the loop had it closed.

I am on superior 3.0.3 and Studio One 3.5.3.4

EDIT: Sorry, now that I reread it, my issue is a bit different because its not with tracker. Inaccurate midi none the less though.

Then, when I go to export that midi info into Studio One so that it will trigger SD3, the hits do not line up.

If the notes doesn’t line up at all, do you have the same tempo/tempo map in Studio One as you were using during export from Tracker?
    – If you export with a tempo of 120 in Tracker Export, you must use the same tempo in your DAW.
    – If you have a tempo map in Tracker and choose to use that tempomap during export, then you must use the same tempo map in your DAW.
    – If you have a tempo map in your DAW, you must import it to the Tracker and use it when exporting your Tracker Midi.

Please let us know if nothing of this works, and you might have a different problem. (Like the notes lining up but gives you a Flam sound or something)

    Thanks for the reply.

I am using a very detailed tempo map in S1 and cannot see how to get it into Tracker. Looked in the SD3 manual and online.
I created a tempo map from Melodyne 4.0 tempo mapping routine because my live track did not use a metronome.
I tried copying all of the S1’s tempo map (has many segmants) but it would not paste anywhere in SD3.
I also cannot export just the tempo map from S1 as a file.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

When you export MIDI files from S1, the MIDI mappings should be included in the file. In Superior Drummer 3, in the Track menu, you select to import a tempo map from a MIDI file!

I exported a midi file from Studio One 3.5 and then used the SD3 option to import tempo map based on a midi file and nothing happened.
Maybe Studio One does not include the tempo map in the midi file.
    So I am stuck!

If you want to add the tempo information to your MIDI file, you can use File/Save As… in Studio One. In the popup, change format to “.mid”.
Import that MIDI file to Superior Drummer 3 and the tempo map will be included!

Thank you Henrik! It worked great.

So for anyone else having an issue with using SD3 Tracker with Studio One for drum replacement on a song that has a custom tempo map:

    1. In Studio One, create/edit your tempo map as needed.
    2. Export the drum stems as needed (kick, snare, etc.).
    3. Export S1’s song from File/Save As as a midi file to include tempo settings.
    4. Open SD3 and import the stems.
    5. Import the tempo map from the midi song file.
    6. Assign kit pieces as needed and adjust the triggers as needed.
    7. Create a midi trackers in SD3.
    8. Drag midi tracks into S1.
    9. Assign SD3 as the instrument in S1. You should hear SD3’s midi correctly trigger SD3 while playing back in S1.

So you HAVE to have a tempo map for Tracker to work?

I saw a video on Groove3 where the instructor just drug the audio file in to SD3 Tracker, and it sync’d up with his audio in Studio One.

I have all audio tracks recorded live, without a click track, no midi files in the project, and the drummer and bass player are solid.

But when I drop the snare track file (the same file I dragged into Studio One Pro), after Tracker analyzes it, it will not sync up…

I was under the impression it would um…track…the audio file – like Drumagog or Steven Slate’s Trigger.

    …or am I missing something?
    Which is highly likely.

    [EDIT]
Found it – “Tracker is an offline Audio to MIDI conversion tool.”
More time spent experimenting is in order…

    Thanks!

The audio files I add to Tracker do not line up or mirror the song track in Pro Tools. The song track starts on the (3rd measure) but when I add the drum tracks to Tracker they always start on the (1st measure). I have a midi tempo map on Tracker with all the tempo and time signature changes and they match, but Tracker drum tracks do not. I added the midi tempo track  before adding the drum tracks to Tracker but this does not make any difference when I add the drums to Tracker.  Nothing seems to line up. How can I get the drum tracks in tracker to match my song track in Pro Tools. I’m stuck and theres no videos to show how to fix this problem. Please help!

    Thanks, Wilbur
