Hi! SD3 works fine when I use it as a plugin, but when I use it as a standalone in Windows 10 on a 4K monitor, it crashes on startup. SD3 will open up, I’ll see the default drums, it will say it’s “scaling,” and then the crash happens. This will go on for a month, and then I will get a message something like: “SD3 failed to close properly last time. Do you want to open one of these recovery files?” I will choose one of those files, or just cancel out of that message, and then the standalone will work properly for a few weeks until the whole thing happens again. Does anybody know how to fix this? Does anybody know the location of the recovery files? Thanks!
I had exactly the same issue, but it was the usb/asio connection to my TD-27 module (which I’m using as my audio interface). I always needed to disconnect my TD-27 (usb cable), then start SD3, then connect the TD-27 again and reselect the TD-27 as my audio interface (this worked most of the time, still SD3 sometimes crashed even then).
Since I use Reaper as a host I never had any issues again.
Having the same issue here with SD3 and my RME UFX2. Drivers and firmware are up to date.
Definitely has something to do with my audio device. It started crashing when I selected the RME interface. I got it to work once but now it crashes when I startup SD3 and it starts checking my outputs. Immediate crash to desktop.
Hi Eric,
do you get any crash dumps? If so, it would help if you either zipped and attach to a post here in the Forum or open a Ticket with Toontrack Support directly, so they may have a look at them.

John
