Feature: load an audio file (song) in one of several formats, such that I can record my e-drum performance to that accompaniment. As it is now, if I have to add or redo drum parts via e-drums, I have to bounce a stereo mix in Cubase on my Big Mac and load it in a striped-down Cubase project on my laptop. I then take the laptop to my drum studio and use Cubase to record the performance. With this requested feature, I could just load that stereo mix into SD3.app on my laptop and use SD3 recording to record parts directly into SD3.
This feature starts to take SD3 to the next level (SD4?): DAW-like features for e-drum recording directly into SD3. That would make everything drums contained within SD, with or without a DAW. For me, I’d record drums using SD3.app, creating either entire performances or just a Groove or two to augment the Groove library, then take it back to the DAW via the SD plugin. This would completely eliminate the need to record and edit e-drum MIDI in the DAW; it would always live in SD.
