Hello community,
I’m a bit confused about the “Snare On” behavior (related to ouptut sound) on searching instrument list.
For example, using SDX Decades with “Default Drums and Mixer Presets”:
-the default RackTom1 is “9×13 Slingerland Radio King 1940s / Snare on: Yes” -> with that, I can hear like a “blowing” sound (at the end of the sound) when I hit the Tom1.
-if we change with the same instrument but with “Snare On: No” (“9×13 Slingerland Radio King 1940s / Snare on : No” –> the sound is the same but without this blowing effect at the end.
Could you please clarify this difference on sound and what is this parameter ? What is the advantage to get “Snare on: Yes” on Tom since it seems to add some blowing sound effect ?
Thank you for your support,
Regards
The ‘blowing’ sound is the sympathetic ringing of the snare wires. Having it ‘on’ adds realism. It is what would really happen in a live recording. The other kit pieces sympathetically ring when hitting other kit pieces.
