    Hi,

No, no such issues are known.

Do you mean that all MIDI grooves are missing or only percussion MIDI?

Are your EZXs available in the library menu?

What happens if you select Add Instrument > Future Hit Instrument > Shaker?

    Hi Olof,

Thanks for your fast response. I will try and answer your questions in order:

    1. Only the SD3 Percussion MIDI grooves are missing. I have attached a screen shot showing the grooves are listed BUT there are NO MIDI grooves shown.SD3-MIDI-Grooves-Missing
    2. Yes, all my EZX files are available and accesable.
    3. When I  “select Add Instrument > Future Hit Instrument > Shaker” the shaker image appears BUT NO sound is available. I’ve attached a screen shot showing the shaker image.
    4. In the attached file “SD3 Instrument Sound Files missing.png,” you can see the instrument files are listed but there is no image shown and there is no sound available.
    5. When I try to add one these missing instruments SD3 crashes

    Thanks again for your help

    Hi Alex,

what happens if you go to Settings > Advanced and Restore both Instrument and MIDI Database?

I don’t think restoring the databases will make any difference in this case.

Only the SD3 Percussion MIDI grooves are missing. I have attached a screen shot showing the grooves are listed BUT there are NO MIDI grooves shown.

I see no indications that the MIDI grooves are missing in your first screenshot. The MIDI dots are not shown because no shaker or tambourine has been added, so the grooves contain no notes which are currently mapped. They would appear for example if you load a preset other than “Default” in an EZX, because those presets always have three percussion pads.

In the attached file “SD3 Instrument Sound Files missing.png,” you can see the instrument files are listed but there is no image shown and there is no sound available.

There is no image to the right because no row is selected. What happens if you select a row (one of the percussion sounds)? Is that when it crashes or is it when you have done that and click the blue button (which then says Add Instrument)?

When I  “select Add Instrument > Future Hit Instrument > Shaker” the shaker image appears BUT NO sound is available. I’ve attached a screen shot showing the shaker image.

Since the shaker image appears, the percussion sound library is not missing at least. Does the memory indicator in the upper right corner change when you add a shaker? Is there no sound if you click the Shaker pad even if you wait a few seconds?

The issue could be that some files in your installed percussion library are corrupt. We can check that if you open Applications > Utilities > Terminal and paste the following command there:

    find /Library/Application\ Support/Toontrack/Superior\ Drummer\ 3/SL-Perc -type f -exec md5 "{}" \;

Then press Enter, wait a bit until it finishes and take a screenshot of the Terminal window, please.

    Hi Olof,

Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately because I live half a world away from you communication is a bit slow.

I’ll go through the issues in point form:

    • With the shaker and tambourine added MIDI dots are now shown in the groove window, however when they are played there is still NO SOUND (see attached file “SD3 Tambourine MIDI grooves)
    • When a row is selected in the instrument screen no image appears (see attached file “SD3 “Claps” instrument selected”) and when the blue “Add Instrument” button is clicked SD3 crashes.
    • When the shaker is added the memory indicator doesn’t change from 1011MB (See attached screen shot “SD3 Shaker & Tambourine memory), and there is still NO SOUNS forthcoming even after waiting a few minutes. I’ve tried this with other presets and the same result happens.
    • Please find attached the “Terminal Window” screen shot

The checksums of your percussion library are correct. But I have found a possibility how this issue can occur! It is if you have explicitly added the EZD2 percussion library to SD2 earlier, that library will be loaded in SD3 instead of the SD3 percussion library and it won’t work.

Go to Settings > Libraries/Paths in SD3 and if you have EZdrummer 2 Percussion listed there, select Remove Library from the menu to the right of it, then restart SD3.

    Olof, (the trouble shooter)

Thank you soooo much. It worked as soon, as I deleted EZD2 Percussion Library as you suggested, everything works perfectly now.

    Thank you once again.

Hi I have the same problem EZdrummer 2 Percussion midi not showing in Superior 3 drummer, all other midi is fine just the percussion midi library. I have tried to follow the above from settings / library/paths but don’t have the percussion library visible to delete

If I go to HD/Library/Application Support/EZdrummer/Midi, I can see the midi folder and can delete it from there but what’s the point as then it disappears from Superior and I loose that midi

I have tried reinstalling everything but to no avail

    Appreciate any help
