hey guys hoping for some help with another problem im having. i record a drum track in reaper with sd3 and save the project file to send to my guitarist. when he gets the file he opens it up and plays the drum track through addictive drums but some of the note values have changed. my closed hi hats are now open,my ride cymbal is now a closed hi hat and some other random stuff. any ideas why we are getting this problem and how to fix it? many thanks brian
I guess sd3 and addictive use different mapping? If he could compare them he might be able to make adjustments in Reaper’s piano roll that would make things come out right. Gives me a headache just thinking about it, but good luck. That’s my shot in the dark. You might also try the reaper forum if you haven’t already. There are lots of power users who will reply to you there . . .

Thanked by: wilkHi,
Mapping is the key word here.
If you e.g. have a Roland TD-15 module/kit and have selected this MIDI Preset in SD3 when you record the drums in Reaper, your buddy needs to go to the Map window in Addictive Drums 2 to select the Roland TD-15 Preset to have the drums map and play back in the same way.
Needless to say, the drums will not actually sound the same but the articulations *should* map the same way.

Thanked by: wilkthanks,i think thats what it might be,i use a roland td50 and my sd3 is mapped to the td50. im just waiting for the guitarist now to go change his mapping onto a roland setting, fingers crossed!!
so the addictive drums he uses only has the preset as far as the td30,which when he uses the hi hat and ride work but the snare dosent. he has tried different presets and the closest is the alesis one but still not right. anyone have a download for a midi mapping preset that could be used in addictive drums? or is there any other way to get round this? cheers brian
Your friend will probably have to create a custom mapping in order for your midi to work properly.

Thanked by: wilkOne more question😂 I’ve only downloaded half of SD3 because I don’t have much room on my C drive.
ive now got another terabyte of external storage (D drive)
will it work downloading the rest of SD3 onto my external drive or does it all have to be on my computer hard drive if you know what I mean! If I download it to my external drive and it doesn’t run properly will I lose the download?
cheers!!
Hi wilk,
you cannot split a library installation across volumes, i.e. the installed library does need its parts all in one location.
However, the downloaded installation files do not need to be on the same drive as the actual installed library.
E.g. I can download the installation files for my SD3 library parts on my internal drive but when I run the library installer, I point it to my desired location on an external drive.
If some parts of the SD3 Core library are installed in one location, any additional parts install to the same location.
I hope I make sense,
John

im not too hot on the computer side of things, il read your post to my mate and see if he can point me in the right direction. Cheers
