Hi all – done a search but couldn’t find an answer.
I’ve have downloaded SD3 program and all it’s core libraries but NOT installed it on my home computer. I am now copying all the downloaded folders and .dmg files across to an external hard drive so I an install on my Studio Mac Pro tomorrow. The studio has incredibly slow internet whilst the house has 70mb/s speeds so that’s why I’ve done it this way.
I am hoping I can manually install all content from the external HD to an internal HD in my Mac Pro and install the software and VST’s etc as I normally would.
Would you suggest I follow these steps:
1) Use product manager to re-download and install the software in the studio (that I can deal with as it’s only 300mb)
2) During install I am assuming I will be asked where the content is stored so point the software to the content location during install
Would this be the easiest/safest way of carrying out the full SD3 install?
Finally – as part of my purchased bundle I got a couple of EDX packs – any tips on ensuring SD3 can see these packs and their respective midi files?
Thanks very much in anticipation of help.
Hi,
if you put all the content from your home computer’s Product Manager Download folder into the studio’s Product Manager Download folder, it should Verify the files when you click Download and then run them, so you should not need to re-download anything.
Superior SDX libraries can always be installed in Custom locations but if you haven’t installed any Toontrack software yet, you should be able to Custom install the ‘EZHOME’ location when you run the SD3 software installer. The ‘EZHOME’ location is where Toontrack MIDI and EZDrummer 2 gets installed. Toontrack MIDI and EZdrummer EZX:s will be picked up automatically by Superior Drummer 3.
