I have owned SD3 for over 4 yrs now and have had no problems with crashes at all. It crashed on me 3 times yesterday while just playing along to a song. I’ll list the full error report below. Nothing has been updated or changed on the mac pro I use or SD3 software or the TD50x module I use. I just played a 4 hour gig last Saturday and had no problems. Came home plugged everything in and now I get the crashes. I’m not the most technically advanced guy, but I’m also no schlub. Hopefully there is an easy fix here. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Here is the full error report.

Are you running SD3 in standalone?

Hi there,
Under Settings >Performance
How many Cores do you have configured?
If it’s not 1, could you set it to 1 and see if that fixes the issue?

DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8

Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.3.7
Operating system: macOS Sequoia (15)
Would changing that have any effect when running SD3 in a daw? I use Pro Tools and don’t see a setting for cores in PT itself.

As the crash was for Superior Drummer 3, I was assuming you were running standalone. I believe setting the CPU to 1 in the standalone app, will set it to 1 in the AAX plug-in as well.
The settings for the number of CPUs for both the Superior Drummer 3 standalone and AAX plug-in are in the same location:
Settings > Performance.
Sorry Jack, I didn’t see who was replying… gotta get new glasses…..
Yeah the recommended CPU setting in DAWs is 1 as well……. has to do with the way DAWs assigns plug-ins to cores, etc…

Thanked by: SullyGT and drumjack52Thank you for your responses. It is a standalone setup and I did check the settings under Performance and it is set to 1. My setup is fairly simple with my TD50 being connected via USB to my Mac. The Mac is then connected to a Berringer XR18 via USB and a USB hub. This has been my setup for many years now with no problems. Just as a shot in the dark, while playing a gig this last Saturday I first replaced the USB chord from the TD50 to the Mac, and the error continued. I then removed the USB hub and plugged the Mac directly into the Berringer and the error still occurred. This all happened during our 1st set. Before the 2nd set, I replaced the USB cable leading from the Mac to the Berringer and there were no more errors the rest of the night. So I’m cautiously optimistic that my problem was a bad chord. Time will tell. If the error continues I’ll reach out again. Thanks again for your help
