SD3 – issue getting HH to work with Yamaha DTX 900

I am using SD3 with my drummer friend’s Yamaha kit using the DTX 900. Everything works fine except the HH. I can’t seem to get the right midi notes to “bind” with all the different HH articulations and sometimes after making a change to a mini # assignment it later reverts to some other number.

The HH itself as an instrument seems completed as it has so many articulation variations.

I would appreciate any insight or referral to information I can study to work out how to resolve this.
