I installed SD3 to my OSx drive and the sound library to a 250gig external SSD. My installation seemed to be going well until I used the “clean up” function which seemed to delete the installed files. They are re-installed and verified but I am definitely missing the intention of “clean up”.
My other problems are:
1. My OSx drive is now nearly full because of a 223 gig “sounds” folder in the Superior Drummer folder in application support. I hope these are redundant files. Can they be deleted so my OSx drive can breath again? I have the sound library on an external SSD
2. I am getting error messages from the last two sound library installations (Pt. 4 and Additional bleed). My external drive is 250 gigs and reserved for the sound library files. The last two files are downloaded and nearly complete in the installation but won’t finish. My drive still has over 10 gigs left. Is the error a space issue? Will “clean up” solve it?
Thanks!

That’s correct. I want you to change the Download Location in preferences. Installation info is correct.
That will cause the “source” files to download to your spinner.
Installation Info is where the Basic Library and 2-3 were “installed” when you ran the installers.
You can delete the 1-5 files from your SSD if you have moved them to the spinner. They are not needed and that will give you space.
Once you have changed the download location. Download files 4-5.
Let me know how it goes.

I just read your last reply. So delete 1-5 on the SSD. You don’t need them, then try downloading just #4 and the additional bleeds.

Sorry if I’m not being clear. PM is not allowing a download even though it’s routed to the spinner.
I understand everything you’re writing to do but just can’t effect it.
Here is what’s on my SSD and the prefs in PM.
I’m so sorry this is such a mess. I don’t blame you if you want to walk away.
No I like a challenge. Just so I am 100% clear; SL-Superior3-SDX_Part1 – 4 do not exist on your SSD

No, they are not on the SSD. I just hit move downloads for the first time and part 4 prompts “A folder could not be created”.
It may not be what we want but at least it’s something different. Hate to say I’ve not seen that happen before….
Not sure why Volumes is the first qualifier of the spinner.
It’s trying to create /Volumes/G-Drive 1/Toontrack/Product Manager
Create the folder Product Manager under Toontrack on your spinner.
Then reboot.
Then try downloading again.
Aya… this is crazy isn’t it?

And off it goes…you genius you!
So when they’re done, they will install to the ssd and I can lose all the other files because they’re installation files.
Obviously I’m going to keep a complete set to avoid having to re-download.
At the point where I know SD3 runs, can I delete the SD3 folder from my OSx drive? I have to keep the Toontrack folder, I take it.
Hard to believe I actually build my own PC’s, eh?
And you said “Aya”! Takes me back to my childhood in Western New York!!
Yeah.. here’s to you mate! Glad it’s finally going.
Yes you can SL-SuperiorDrummer3 from /Library/Application/Support once we are sure everything is running perfectly.
Aya… well actually that comes from years of working in Hong-Kong. (Another career, a few years ago)
Anyway I am glad we finally figured out how to get things going again.
Thanks for your patience….
I used to build PCs back in the 80’s… yet another career….
Cheers Mick, think I will kick back and have a nice glass of red….

You deserve it, brother! Your patience is astounding and your generosity is truly humbling.
All the best to you and yours and, unfortunately, I’ll be around here a lot. Because I’m just a guitar player!!
Be safe, my friend!
I play guitar as well as drums and keys… actually the avatar is with my old faithful, ’65 Gretsch Gent.
Hopefully you’ll post some tunes, with great sounding drums.
Cheers

Hey Brad,
Not starting up again. Just going to get a new, larger SSD. I figured a 250g would do but I should have just gotten a 500g.
4 and 5 won’t install to the drive for lack of space.
Cheers and I hope that glass of red was nice!
The red was nice, just 1 glass though (it’s a weekday evening), 500GB SSDs have really come down in price. I still run a couple of them, (4 X 1TB and 2 X 500GB plus the 1TB flash in the iMac) it’s a good size in case you have some EZXs or SDXs to add.
You can get a small enclosure for a relatively inexpensive and run them both, if they’re internal SSDs or chain them if they’re in their own enclosures.

Do you know the exact size of the final folder? When I read it was 230 gigs of samples thought I had enough but didn’t account for installation files, I guess.
Just under 239GB.
Is there anything else on drum data besides the SuperiorDrummer3 folder?
