I installed SD3 to my OSx drive and the sound library to a 250gig external SSD. My installation seemed to be going well until I used the “clean up” function which seemed to delete the installed files. They are re-installed and verified but I am definitely missing the intention of “clean up”.
My other problems are:
1. My OSx drive is now nearly full because of a 223 gig “sounds” folder in the Superior Drummer folder in application support. I hope these are redundant files. Can they be deleted so my OSx drive can breath again? I have the sound library on an external SSD
2. I am getting error messages from the last two sound library installations (Pt. 4 and Additional bleed). My external drive is 250 gigs and reserved for the sound library files. The last two files are downloaded and nearly complete in the installation but won’t finish. My drive still has over 10 gigs left. Is the error a space issue? Will “clean up” solve it?
Thanks!

All that’s been done but it won’t change the path in the installation info for each part so it still sees the ssd. I’m restarting PM but the path seems locked in the individual parts.
OK, I know there is a way to fix that. I will be home in about four hours and can send you the details on how it works. If you don’t mind waiting.

Hi,
Sorry I’m a little late and have a question.
Does PM indicate Superior Drummer 3 Part 1 – Basic Sound Library is “Ready to Use”?

Yes, the first 4 downloads are. The drum data ssd then ran out of space on the install, not the download. I believe I just need to install them. My OSx drive is now maxed out so if any files have to go there, I still need to clear space.
In Superior Dummer 3 Part 1 Basic Library > Show Details > Installation Info. What is the path?

Also on the left side of PM there is a message “Show Downloads” if you select that, what drive it is point to? (Right click in the file and select “Get Info”)

The path is to the drum data ssd. The second answer is also drum data. I included a shot of the files in the SD>SL-SuperiorDrummer3 folder on the drum data ssd.
Also a shot of the PM prefs.
So the first thing you want to do is change the Download location to your spinner; the directory where you put the files 1-5.
Second thing is I would like a screen print of “Settings” Libraries from SD3. It looks like there are 2 paths, that might be confusing things.
We’ll get there. Bare with me.

I’ve been trying to do that but there doesn’t seem to be an easy way. I remember reading that once you choose it after the initial install, you can’t change it but hopefully we can.
And thank you for bearing with me. I’m the dopey guitar player screwing it all up. That’s what I get for replacing drummers, I suppose.
So in SD3, you can remove the path that says invalid path. Select “Remove Path” from the menu at the end of the path (3 lines and a triangle)
In PM what happens when you change Download Location to your spinner drive?
You should be able to change the location and then select; Move Downloads.
It seems you may have to download Library 4, as it does look like it’s messed up.
No worries…

I did remove it but I’m getting a bit confused now. That path should be the ssd drum data, I think.
In PM I can change to the spinner in prefs but not in “installation info”. There doesn’t seem to be an option to do that. The 3 lines and arrow produce a “Show in Finder” prompt.
If it’s easier for me so start over, I’m all for it. This is too much to ask of you, Brad. Thank you so much.
In PM preferences you are changing the download location. It is simply pointing to a location where from now on, you will download files (any updates or SDXs from Toontrack), away from your SSD and away from your system drive. Installation info is your sounds library. The 2 things are independent of each other. So in your spinner I would remove files 4-5 and download them again. When you run the installer it should use the install info configuration from your Basic Sound Library and install Library 4 & 5 to your SSD (Drum Data) under SL-SuperiorDrummer3 based on the configuration data for Basic Sound Library.
I hope I am making sense?
Let’s try that before starting over, because really you are 3/4 done.
