I just have to say, Unless I am missing something, when creating drum parts in SD3, opened via logic, be very careful of clicking the “< >” at the top of the window that switches your preset drum sets. I meant to click the “< >” just below it IN the SD3 portion of the window and messed up…. hours of grueling editing GONE! I was just finished with days of work and had one small edit to go. I have what was saved from yesterday still but unfortunately- that was the easy stuff. I can find nothing online about it, there’s no option for undo or set back, there’s nothing. This is also when I came to the realization that by default only “in stand alone” is checked for auto save. NOT in DAW…….. Im not working on rock beats….this was extensive. and im going to go ahead and shut er down now. Sooooo bummed…. I just hope anyone who knows as little as me or is just unaware might happen across this and save their project from immediate catastrophic demise.
Logic Pro X has auto save. You should have been able to revert to one of your auto saved versions. I have had many times where this has saved me a lot of work.
as is with any work done on computers: save often.

Yes but you ALSO need to have the auto-save in other hosts checked in SD3 as well. I think by default this is not checked and I had an issue where LPX crashed on me and I lost all my SD3 work but all LPX data was retained from the previous auto-save.

If you lost your stuff during an LPX crash, that’s an indication that the project somehow didn’t get marked dirty thus triggering an autosave. I’d probably check that workflow and if its reproducible, report it as a bug. I’ve never had that auto-save set and have not yet had an issue with all of my drum data autosaved (and have had a few LPX crashes of my own out of “geekier” causes).
