I have installed SD3 (3.02) on my Win10 (all updates) PC on a SSD. There are also SD 2 and several MIDI Packs installed. All works fine (also with Cubase 9.03), but one thing does not work. I have created my own groove in SD3 and wanted to save it as descriped. But every time I drop the file over the field “User MIDI” nothing happened. Also when I click “Add Subfolder” nothing happend.
It’s seemed that SD3 has no folder “User MIDI”, if i click on it and choose “open in explorer”, also nothing happened. If I do this in SD 2 all works fine, the explorer opens the folder “MY MIDIFILES”, which is located in “c.Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDRummerMIDI”, where all the other SD3 and SD 2 grooves (MIDIPACKS etc.) are. If I use SD2 and open the MY MIDI-Folder I can save a new midifile in this folder. SD shows and uses this midifile as wanted. all ok. But using SD3 (both plug-in or standalone) I cant see this file.
Can u help me?
Problem solved!
I have found an Errorlog in c:usersall usersToontrackSuperior3 with follwing entry:
ERROR opening file C:/Users/cubase/Documents/Toontrack/EZdrummer/User MIDI/Superior Drummer 3 01.mid
I have created an new folder in “C:/Users/cubase/Documents/Toontrack/EZdrummer/User MIDI” and have allowed Access for relevant users.
Now all works fine !
I´ve got exactly the same problem – but this method, described above, doesn´t work …
Might this be a Windows Problem… ?
🙁
Hello Verney,
I actually think, that this is a windows problem, which is is related to the user administration or wrong path. I suggest doing/answering the following to help toontrack to solve your problem:
Search and post the errorfile.doc (in my pc it is located here: c:usersall usersToontrackSuperior3), if you can’t find it there, please use your file explorer and search “errlog.doc” and post it here.
If you already tried what I have posted on Oct16: Did you tried it also logged in as admin? So it may be, that “your” user has no rights to write in that folder, which SD3 has chosen.
Good luck!
I had the same issue and solved it about 5 minutes ago thanks to your tips!
Maybe it’s helpful if I tell you what exactly was the problem:
Thanks to your postings I searched C: for the errlog.doc where I could find the error “ERROR opening file C:/Users/wolfg/Documents/Toontrack/EZdrummer/User MIDI/Verse0.mid”. The real problem was that there was no folder with this name in this directory!
So I just went to C:/Users/wolfg/Documents/Toontrack/EZdrummer and created a folder named “User MIDI”. Then I started Superior Drummer and NOW I CAN FINALLY USE THE USER MIDI FUNCTION!!!
I’m really happy right now — thanks a lot to you guys! This was the missing piece for an astounding software!
