Hi –
I’m confused as to whether or not my SD3 installation is working correctly.
When I click the Library selector, there is only one library entry for SD3 called “Superior Drummer 3”. When this is loaded and I right click on the drums, none of the Electronic drums show up. It seems like theyre all hidden?
I can use the instrument search and in there it shows separate SD3 libraries – CORE, Electronic, Percussion, Preset Sounds.
Is it normal that the only way it seems I can access any electronic drums are through the Instrument Search? And they dont show up in the right click context menus when i click on drums?
Hi,
there is nothing wrong with your SD3 installation.
The library is indeed ‘Superior Drummer 3’. You have different kit and mixer presets right next to the Library menu.
The Electronic sounds included are not a drum library per se as the Core library or other library expansions, they are more of a colouring palette.
Therefore you don’t see an Electronic “kit” preset. You can, however create ones yourself and save as User Presets.
If you would like to see “Factory” Electronic kit presets from the included sounds, please feel free to post a request for this in the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section.

Found this old thread in a search. On my laptop I don’t have the SD3 core library installed due to space constraints. However, somehow have the electronic and percussion sounds installed in the instrument browser and I can load instruments.
As I say I don’t have these installed, yet there they are. Do they get installed automatically with the standard plugin?
Hi Guy,
the Electronic sounds are part of the Software Installer and they are installed to your system drive, considered to be part of the software, not a Library per se. The footprint of these sounds is minimal.
